What you would do here

SST Wireless is seeking a Firmware Developer with Hardware knowledge that thrives in a team environment that highly values mutual respect, integrity and cooperative effort. You enjoy working with other smart people and work together to find the best solutions.

Your initial projects will primarily focus on firmware for ARM Cortex M and A series micro-controllers. The A series may involve PRU assembly coding, RTOS code, custom Android builds or Linux. Serial bus protocols such as SPI, I2C, CAN, etc. must evoke no trepidation, nor must writing to other cores such as 8051 or MSP430.

Software skills in managing the upstream interaction of your embedded device with various platforms (eg Windows, cloud databases) over various channels (USB, Ethernet, Wi-Fi, RS232) along with providing a functional interface are valuable. If your talents also extend to PCB layout and prototype assembly, we can certainly make use of all the hats you wear.

About you

  • Embedded RTOS experience
  • Comfortable with ARM cores
  • Knowledge of Ethernet/Industrial Protocol
  • Wireless sensor network experience
  • RF technologies such as Bluetooth, GPS, Wi-Fi, Cellular
  • Serial protocols such as USB, UART, SPI, CAN
  • RF communications theory/design
  • Good math skills
  • Strong hardware, firmware and software troubleshooting skills
  • Regulatory testing including FCC and CE
  • Low power design experience
  • Be a Linux/Android guru
  • Strong proficiency in C
  • C++/C# skills ice the cake
